Overview & Reviews
Although the Toyota Camry sedan is all-new this year, the 2007 Toyota Camry Solara remains largely unchanged mechanically. However, there are a few notable changes. The front and rear of the car have been restyled and LED taillamps and optional HID xenon headlights have been added. Inside, the car gets a new MP3 CD and satellite radio-capable stereo plus the expected auxiliary jack for connecting hand-held digital music players. Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity is new for 2007, as is voice activation for the optional navigation system. More safety features are also standard equipment this year, including a tire-pressure monitor, front side airbags and, for the coupe, side-curtain airbags. Engine power ratings have been revised due to new testing procedures, but actual performance is unaffected. Finally, the Solara Sport trim (previously called the SE Sport) gets an exclusive wheel design and is newly available on the convertible body style.
- Excellent build quality, smooth V6, reasonably priced considering its luxury.
- Lackluster styling, no manual transmission available on V6 models.

1ST - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara
By artieh - January 15 - 7:56 amFirst rate vehicle. Fun to drive, easy to care for. Quite quiet for a convertible. A little difficult to get out of the back seat. Rear visibilty could be better. Overall a great car.

Solara Convertible Sport - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara
By Trilion4245 - December 9 - 3:43 pmBeautiful, smooth ride & very fun to drive, this car is just about perfect to me. Living in New England, its difficult for a car to accommodate the extreme demands year-round, but this car has for me. I knew when I bought it that I wouldnt be happy with the blindspots in back but purchased it anyway. Ive owned a variety of automobiles to use as a comparison and can honostly say that I love my Solara convertible and am reminded of that everythime I drive it.

LOVE This Car! - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara
By ccald - October 3 - 1:03 pmI have owned my Toyota Solara SLE Convertible for just about three years now. I absolutely love it! I was so very sorry to hear of the models demise. I think Toyota made a mistake there. I wanted a 4 seater not a 2 seater convertible without being a huge car and there are not many of those made. The retractable hard roofs take up trunk space which I do not like. My car has really good trunk space. I have seen too many of the convertibles with very poor trunk space. I would have continued buying Toyotas convertibles if they had continued making the Solara. I live in the middle south and convertibles are definitely the way to go. Toyota: PLEASE BRING IT BACK!

Great Overall Convertible - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara
By Glenn G - October 25 - 1:16 amJust got the Solara convertible SLE and we are extremely satisified. Traded in a 2003 BMW Z4 that was fun to drive but suffered from some strange quirks. The Solara is a different kind of ride, somewhat sporty but rather refined. The fact that it can carry 4 in comfort and the huge trunk are both real positives. Also, the built in bluetooth phone system is fantastic. Seats are very comfortable and the controls are typical Toyota, well designed and intuitive. Paint job is awesome.

First convertible - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara
By Lake lady - August 19 - 9:33 pmSo far, we love it. We wanted a convertible that could seat four comfortably, and have enough cargo space for golf clubs. It is smooth, quiet, and comfortable. Mileage is okay. Putting the boot on is kind of a pain, and our side clips dont stay in place. Visibility is restricted with top up or down as boot blocks rear view of close objects. My husband doesnt like the low visor position, especially with seat forward.

Burst Bubble Too - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara
By U-boat commander - February 10 - 2:06 amIve owned many cars, but this is my first new Toyota. Given their reputation, I thought this would be a good car to get. So far, its been a disaster. Stalled, rough engine all around (especially on warm up) and dealer finds no problems. Lugging and poor engine performance on turns and on upshift. Reset computer to no avail. There is a fix, but only for the 07 Camry that has the same problems. Not available for the Solara yet, if ever, they tell me. Severe rainwater leaks not only from cowl, but both doors as well. Ive gotten used to driving loaner cars, it spent two weeks in the dealership just getting those leaks fixed. MPG on dash shows around 28 steady, actual can be as low as 19.

Toyota Quality Not What it used to be - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara
By rb106 - October 24 - 7:10 pmCar has chronic problem with pulling to right, front windows bang when they go down into door and the dealer says that is normal as the car ages. The car does not handle roads very well, there are lots of rattles and rides very rough. I have owned several Toyotas and this is by far the worst Toyota I have ever owned. I know that everyone who writes loves theirs but I cant say the same. The dealer and Toyota specialist keep telling me that Im too fussy and all the problems are in my head. Friends that drive the car agree that there is something wrong but I cant seem to get Toyota to agree with me.
